The Forest Nymph Rings
These woodland beauties were inspired by the landscape of southern BC…Mt Maxwell on Saltspring Island, to be exact. A place I once called home. Carving this line I was transported back to a time in my life spent closer to the land. A place where I arrived a young woman, and became a mother. I fell in love with the land, and the people. I found a loving community, and explored my artistry. I called it my Garden of Eden, and that is what’s represented in these designs.
The Forest Nymph Rings are born of bedrock, rich moist soil and downy moss. Tree roots reaching, knotting around it’s community forest, climbing over rocks and deep into the earth, spreading their limbs to the heavens above. The singsong of the birds echoing under the canopy of the forest. Interwoven silence. All echoing in one vibrational sound.
Standing in this amphitheater, layers of tension melt away, until, I am at peace. This time in the forest is my medicine, a place I visit to get back to myself. A place so sweet and so pure I feel myself being nourished.
These Forest Nymph Rings represent a strong connection to the forest, setting down deep roots, receiving nourishment from nature and community. Raw, vibrant, and authentic living.
And now, without further adieu I’d like to introduce you to Artemis, Goddess of the Forest, and the Mama of the Forest Nymph Rings. Here she is posing in her glory on a mossy cushion on the forest floor.
