White Gold Rings

All of the designs that you see on this page are created in 14k white gold, which is 58.3% pure gold with other parts nickel, copper and zinc. The natural colour of this gold mixture has just the slightest tint of yellow…very slight. This is the most economical version of white gold. I do not rhodium plate my rings, however if you love the bright white look I can rhodium plate for a small fee of $60. Either myself or most goldsmiths are able to do this. This plating requires some upkeep down the road and eventually it does wear off. Usually this is done every 2-3 years. You can tell when the plating starts to wear as there is a slight yellow tinge that starts to peek through on the edges that take the most wear and tear, which would be the shank on the inside of the palm. There is a small percentage of nickel in this alloyed white gold.

IF you have a nickel allergy then I can create your ring in 14k white gold with palladium as the alloy. Again this is 58.3% pure gold and 41.7% palladium. Palladium is in the platinum family of metals and is non reactive. I find this has a beautiful silvery white colour with a slight grey tinge…think gun-metal grey with shine. This mixture carries a higher cost and is evaluated by the weight of the ring, so please inquire here for a price quote.

I only create 19k white gold upon request. This will be the brightest white gold, however it is a fair bit softer than 14k…so this depends on your lifestyle and whether this will be an everyday ring or a ring for special occasions.
